Sydney Under Siege?!

Architecture, Australia-Oceania, Travel

I had queued up this post yesterday; the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge in early morning light, with a ship (MV ‘The World’) docked at the International Cruise Terminal. Then news that terrorism had finally reached Australian soil broke. Hostages held in a cafe. Regular people going about their daily schedule were suddenly captive. Unthinkable for Australia. It’s a peaceful, laid-back country and some would say it is insignificant on the world political stage. Not any more apparently. My country of birth has, sadly, joined the rest of the terrorized world. So, here’s a shout out to whoever is in charge (God, The Universe, Buddha, …) that the siege ends soon with no loss of life.
