Christ The Redeemer

A collaboration in 1931 by a French sculpture, a French engineer and a Brazilian engineer resulted in a 125′ (38m) Christian monument on top of Mount Corcovado. It is a globally recognized icon and instantly geo-tags any image as Rio de Janeiro. Looking to get a different capture of one of the world’s famous and often photographed sites, I chose this angle. With the unusual tight framing removing the statue’s outstretched arms, it’s location on a mountain top with the city far below, is it still recognizable to you as Christ The Redeemer? Location: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
