Humanity Series: Making Ends Meet

Europe, Monochrome, People, Travel

It’s a wonderful thing to travel. Your opinions, born as they are within your frame of reference, can be corrected by reality of travel. For example, I thought the fall of Communism was a good thing that was welcomed by all. Travelling through Bulgaria I learnt that this was not a universal opinion. The younger generation appeared to welcome it, however, the older folks did not. They may have had to stand in line all day for bread or milk, but it was eventually given to them. Not so any more. This elderly lady sits in a public square with a set of bathroom scales. Presumably earning money to buy that bread and milk. Location: Varna, Bulgaria
